Learn how to be there for yourself

The Hermit teaches us an important lesson — how to be there for yourself in times of need, in times of loneliness, and in times of fear. The old man on this card remembers that he was born alone, and he will die alone. The only virtue he will carry into his afterlife is self-love. Self-love must be unconditional. We must be able to give so much of it to ourselves that we are overflowing with love. Love begets compassion, and compassion begets empathy.

Today, take a lesson from the Hermit’s book of learnings and love yourself fully and completely. Accept yourself just as you are in this present moment. Because according to the Hermit, you’re complete even when you’re all by yourself.
